Baby Shower dessert table: Behind the scenes

SWEETTABLESCAPES just created a dessert table for a fancy baby shower. The two future dads wanted to go all out for this very special event and celebrate the arrival of their baby girl in grand style.

We started working on Carnival / Fun Fair and the color palette, feminine but fun and colorful: Red, Orange and Bright Pink.

We checked out the venue, the upstairs space of a New-York boutique,  and we started planning the details of the display. And then, things changed; the venue was now the parents uptown brownstone and the theme: a Princess’ dreamland. Colors remained the same.

The dessert selection included vanilla, chocolate and lemon-poppy seed cupcakes (with monogram white chocolate toppers and fancy wrappers)IMG_6795 IMG_6794, cakepops,IMG_6789 our delicious handmade chocolate-covered marshmallows, IMG_6791some chocolate covered strawberries IMG_6788and of course, given the French heritage of one dad, a macaron tower by Laduree (no less!!)IMG_6784There was also a delicious tower of raspberry-flavored caneles by Celine.

Departing guests were handed favors that followed the French tradition with bags filled with colorful dragees (Jordan Almond).

There was a popcorn cart IMG_6796as well as cotton candy cart and the “dessert room” which has a beautiful wall of shelving was decorated with jars filled with pink and orange candy.IMG_6781 Sweettablescapes also provided the super fun bright orange and pink candied apples…

Lucky Baby Renee !!

As the party was about to start….the surrogate mother’s water broke and the soon-to-be dads had to rush to the hospital to welcome their impatient baby girl! Talk about not wanting to miss your party!! Let’s hope the pictures give them an unforgettable account of the party that never was….for the dads! Everyone else enjoyed the treats!!
